Hallaperä is a known VMS deposit, 20km east of Pyhäsalmi mine, found by Outokumpu in 1967. It was outlined by some 50 holes drilled between 1967 and 1990 and consists of a layer of semi-massive and breccia type copper-zinc sulphide. The deposit extends over more than 1 kilometre. Mineralization remains open in depth and the discovery potential of possible extensions in depth below 150m has not yet been tested.
Akkerman Finland Oy was the first to apply for a new exploration permit over this promising opportunity, following the expiry of the moratorium on the former mining concession held by Pyhäsalmi Mine Oy since 1980.
Historic data on the earlier studies have been acquired and are being analysed, ahead of a new round of drilling once permitting is completed For further details and background see Avrupa’s site: https://avrupaminerals.com/avrupa-minerals-submits-hallapera-exploration-license-application-pyhasalmi-copper-zinc-vms-district-in-finland/
