Amidst the current surge in exploration for precious and battery metals in Scandinavia, Akkerman Finland acquired mineral rights to a major part of the gold-bearing Oijärvi greenstone belt, north of the city of Oulu.
This belt, extending in north-south direction over 80km is known to contain significant gold mineralization of orogenic, shear zone -related type. The best discovery to date is the Kylmäkangas gold deposit with an inferred resource of 1,9Mt grading 4 g/tAu and 31g/tAg.
Mineral rights to this deposit and surrounding areas were recently acquired from Agnico Eagle by Gold Line Resources for an aggregate price of 10MUS$.
The area reserved by Akkerman Finland is located to the south of this gold deposit, covering the southern extension of the same belt over a length of 30km.
